Easton, Mass. - Trailing 1-0 early in the second half, the University of Bridgeport got two goals - including the game-clincher with less than five minutes left - to rally for a 2-1 win over host Stonehill on Skyhawk Field on Thursday afternoon.

Stonehill scored as the first was winding down when sophomore Kirstie St. Martin (Providence, R.I.) banged home a header off a feed from junior Erin Bazinet (Charlton, Mass.) at the 30:35 mark.

Bridgeport, which entered the match in a tie for seventh with Stonehill in the latest NSCAA Regional Rankings, evened the score when Sofia Hoflin scored with help from Linda Velaj at 54:40.

Things stayed that way and the match seemed headed towards overtime when Velaj hooked up with Marie Biondi with 4:35 left to give the Purple Knights the lead and eventual victory.

The Skyhawks got ten saves from netminder Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.), while Bridgeport saw their goalie, Elina Yletyinen turn away seven Stonehill attempts.

With the loss, the Skyhawks fall to 1-1. They return to action on Saturday with a trip to UMass-Lowell.
