PLAINVIEW, N.Y.-- Freshman Erin Bazinet (Charlton, Mass.) netted a pair of goals, while junior Alex Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) made two saves to pick up her second shutout of the season in leading Stonehill to a 2-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over New York Tech Tuesday afternoon at the Plainview Soccer Park.

Bazinet converted a feed from junior Caragh McManus (Spofford, N.H.) just 12:18 into the contest to give the visiting Skyhawks (3-1-1) the only goal they would need and a 1-0 advantage at the break. Bazinet provided an insurance marker for Stonehill with just over seven minutes remaining in the match, and she took a pass from junior Meghan O'Brien (Stow, Mass.) to close out the scoring and seal the Skyhawk triumph.

Eckhardt notched her seventh career shutout with her two-save effort over 58-plus minutes of play for Stonehill, as sophomore Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.) was not called upon to make a save in the final 31-plus minutes of action for the visitors. Sophomore Jenna Ament (East Norwich, N.Y.) made five stops in net in the setback for the host Golden Bears (0-6), as the Skyhawks outshot New York Tech by a 17-6 margin.

Stonehill heads to Colchester, Vt. on Saturday afternoon for a Northeast-10 Conference outing with Saint Michael's that begins at Noon, while New York Tech hosts Concordia (N.Y.) in an East Coast Conference match on Friday afternoon at the Plainview Soccer Park beginning at 4:00 p.m.
