NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.-- Freshman Alyssa Wollman's (Northford, Conn.) goal in the 37th minute of play snapped a 1-1 tie and propelled Merrimack to a 2-1 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer victory over Stonehill Tuesday evening at Warrior Field.

Wollman converted the game-winner for the host Warriors (13-3-1, 9-3-1 Northeast-10) on feeds from junior Amy Pelletier (Hudson, N.H.) and freshman Brittany Gustafson (East Hampton, Conn.) less than a minute after the visiting Skyhawks (6-4-4, 5-4-4 Northeast-10) had evened matters on junior Meghan O'Brien's (Stow, Mass.) fourth goal of the season off a corner kick. Merrimack had grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute of action when junior Hillary McGarr (North Dighton, Mass.) took a pass from senior Susanne Carter (Newton, Mass.), and the two teams played a scoreless second half to account for the final margin.

Senior Caitlin Stephan (Northboro, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Merrimack with six saves on the night, while junior Alex Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) also made six stops in net for Stonehill as the Warriors outshot the Skyhawks by a 19-10 margin for the match in ending Stonehill's four-match unbeaten steak and 311 minute scoreless streak in goal.

Stonehill, which stands in seventh place in the conference standings, closes out Northeast-10 regular season play on Saturday afternoon by heading to Lowell, Mass. to take on UMass Lowell in a league match that begins at Noon, as the Skyhawks can clinch their first conference playoff berth in five years with at least one point. Merrimack closes out its regular season slate on Friday evening when the Warriors head to Smithfield, R.I. to take on Bryant in a Northeast-10 match that begins at 7:00 p.m.
