SMITHFIELD, R.I.-- Junior Lauren Boyd (Sandwich, Mass.) tied the school record with four goals and added an assist to finish with a school-record nine point performance in leading Stonehill to a 5-2 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer victory over Bryant Wednesday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.

Boyd became the third player in school history to net four tallies in a single contest, matching the mark first set by Lisa Cirillo in 1988 against WPI and tied by Anne O'Doherty in 1993 against, ironically, Bryant. Boyd staked the visiting Skyhawks (1-1-1, 1-1-1 Northeast-10) to a 2-0 advantage just 27:57 into the contest, as she notched her first two goals on assists from sophomore Kelley Harper (Liverpool, N.Y.), but the host Bulldogs (4-2, 2-1 Northeast-10), who received votes in this week's NSCAA Division II Top 25, closed that gap to 2-1 at the break when junior Tricia Spada (Dedham, Mass.) converted a penalty kick in the 30th minute of action.

Boyd extended Stonehill's lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute to gain a hat trick with an unassisted tally, and both she and fellow junior Ashley Bourne (Brockton, Mass.) set up Harper's first goal of the season just 6:24 later to give the Skyhawks a 4-1 edge. Senior Casey Grange (Methuen, Mass.) netted the other Bryant marker of the afternoon in the 79th minute of action, and Boyd closed out the scoring for the visitors by equaling the school record with her fourth tally of the day that came with 55 seconds remaining in the match.

Sophomore Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.) made five saves to pick up her second career victory in goal for Stonehill, while sophomore Jessica Neales (Swansea, Mass.) and freshman Katie Mitchell (Deer Park, N.Y.) combined for seven stops in net for Bryant as the Skyhawks outshot the Bulldogs by a 15-11 margin for the contest.

Stonehill hosts LeMoyne in a Northeast-10 outing on Saturday afternoon at Skyhawk Field that begins at 2:00 p.m., while Bryant heads to Rindge, N.H. on Saturday afternoon to take on 22nd-ranked Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 match that begins at 1:00 p.m.
