BRIARCLIFF, N.Y.-- Sophomore Lauren Boyd’s (Sandwich, Mass.) goal with nine minutes remaining in regulation enabled Stonehill to forge a 3-3 double overtime Northeast-10 Conference women’s soccer tie with Pace Saturday afternoon at the Briarcliff Campus Field.

Boyd converted a feed from fellow sophomore Caragh McManus (Spofford, N.H.) in the 81st minute that enabled the visiting Skyhawks (8-2-3, 6-2-3 Northeast-10) to extend their unbeaten streak to four straight, as the host Setters (8-7-1, 3-7-1 Northeast-10) had jumped out to a 2-0 halftime advantage on the strength of markers from seniors Amanda Thorman (Bayport, N.Y.) and Marta Anderson-Winchell (Bloomingburg, N.Y.). Senior Kayla Certuse (Mansfield, Mass.) evened matters early in the second half for Stonehill, as she sliced the visitors deficit in half just five minutes into the half and tied the score just five minutes later with her second of the match. Sophomore Lauren Palmer’s (Niskayuna, N.Y.) tally in the 72nd minute on Anderson-Winchell’s second assists of the match gave Pace a 3-2 lead but set up Boyd’s heroics, as neither team scored in the two extra sessions despite the Skyhawks outshooting the Setters by a 4-1 margin in overtime.

Sophomore Alex Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) made four saves in goal for Stonehill in the draw, while junior Jocelyne Durando (Monroe, N.Y.) made six stops in net for Pace as the Skyhawks outshot the Setters by a 14-11 margin for the contest.

Stonehill hosts Merrimack in a Northeast-10 outing on Wednesday afternoon at Skyhawk Field beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Pace hosts second-ranked Assumption in a Northeast-10 match on Wednesday afternoon at Briarcliff Campus Field at 3:00 p.m.
