High School: 2009 graduate of Mineola High School. Four-year letterwinner and two-year captain. Two-time Academic All-American. Two-time All-Conference selection. Earned All-County honorable mention. Coach's Award recipient. Part of conference championship team as a freshman and senior. Also lettered in basketball.

Personal: Born on July 6, 1991, Mineola, N.Y. Daughter of Joe and Merle Taveira of Mineola. Has two siblings, Carrie (15) and Alex (12). Majoring in biochemistry and aspires to become a forensic scientist. Her favorite team is the New York Giants and her favorite athlete is Eli Manning.
