Easton, Mass. -
Senior captain Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) scored five times and added an assist in Stonehill College's (10-2, 8-0 Northeast-10 Conference) 21-2 victory over the Southern Connecticut State University Owls (2-11, 2-6 Northeast-10 Conference).  A packed W.B. Mason Stadium watched Darrell, one of three seniors playing in their last regular season home contest,  register a season high five tallies to tie Erin Acone (2003-2006) for first place on Stonehill College's all-time scoring list.  Seniors Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip), Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine/Thornton) and Darrell were honored prior to Saturday's contest.

The Skyhawks made quick work of the visiting Owls, posting a 10-goal advantage with 9:18 remaining in the first half.  Seven different Skyhawks scored first-half markers, including Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham), who claimed three goals and three assists in the opening frame to smother the Owls, 14-0 at halftime.

McGeachey provided another strong outing between the pipes for the Purple and White.  In her final regular season contest in Easton, McGeachey held Southern Conn. scoreless for 29:10.  Two scores from Rachel Carlucci and Allison Kownacki were all McGeachey allowed while making seven saves, three on free position attempts.  The senior finished 2-2 on clear attempts, as well.

The Skyhawks outscored the Owls 7-2 in the second half.  Kelly, a junior, led the offensive attack with four goals and four assists for eight total points.  Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y./Saint Anthony's), Liza Gross (Loudonville, N.Y./Shaker) and Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) each combined for six of Stonehill 21 goals.

Darrell claimed her record-tying 227th score with 2:29 remaining in regulation.  The marker punctuated Stonehill's eighth Conference win of the season, and the programs' 76th consecutive NE-10 victory.

The Skyhawks will take their undefeated Conference record on the road this week, with three away contests to conclude the regular season.  Stonehill will travel to American Int'l College on Tuesday for a 4:00 p.m. contest with the winless Yellow Jackets.  A win will guarantee the Skyhawks a share of their tenth straight Northeast-10 Conference Regular Season Title.
