Craig Named to Northeast-10 All-Academic Team

Northeast-10 Conference Release

Easton, Mass. - Sophomore Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) was selected to represent the Stonehill College Women's Lacrosse team (14-3, 10-0 Northeast-10) on the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic team.  The Skyhawks, who claimed their tenth straight regular season title in April, defeated Southern N.H., 17-10, on Sunday to earn their ninth consecutive Northeast-10 Tournament Championship.

Craig's efforts contributed to Stonehill's top-ranked defense.  The Skyhawks allowed just 6.48 goals per game, nearly half of Southern N.H.'s 12.72 second place mark.   Craig finished the year second on the team in ground balls (22), third in draw controls (22) and fifth in caused turnovers (11).

A 2007 IWLCA/US first team All-America as a rookie, Craig was named to the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference First Team and the 2007 Northeast-10 Second Team as a freshman.  Craig, a biology major, will graduate in 2010.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a studentathlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the  Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
