Stonehill Lacrosse Travels to AIC

Easton, Mass. - The Stonehill College Women's Lacrosse team (10-2, 8-0 Northeast-10 Conference) could clinch a share of their tenth consecutive Northeast-10 Regular Season Championship with a win over the American International College Yellow Jackets (0-13, 0-7 Northeast-10 Conference) on Tuesday.  The Skyhawks will keep one eye on the Conference scoreboard. A win combined with a Southern New Hampshire loss to Merrimack College will give Stonehill sole possession of the Conference's regular season crown and the top seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship tournament.

Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) concluded a terrific week for Stonehill's second ranked offensive.  Kelly, a junior, combined f or seven goals and seven assists in Stonehill's 2-0 week.  Thanks in part to Kelly's 5.73 points per game the Skyhawks rank second in the Northeast-10 in goals per game (16.83) and third in points per game (23.17).

Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) finished with eight goals and an assist for Stonehill last week.  Her five-goal performance against Southern Conn. on Saturday moved Darrell into a first-place tie on Stonehill College's all-time scoring list.  She has 227 career goals with three regular season contests remaining.

The Skyhawks' defense remained solid all season.  Led by senior goaltender Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine/Thornton), Stonehill boasts a Conference-best 6.26 goals against average, nearly five goals better than Southern N.H.'s 11.57 mark.  The Skyhawks are first in caused turnovers (10.67) and turnovers (11.00), as well.

The winless Yellow Jackets rank tenth in the NE-10 with 9.77 points per game, while allowing a Conference-high 21.08 goals per game.  Despite their tenth place ranking in goals scored (7.23), AIC's Caitlin Mooney lands in the top ten with 3.10 goals per game.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday night at American International College.  Game time is 4:00 p.m.
