EASTON, Mass.-- Senior All-Americas Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.) and Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.) each netted 10 points as third-ranked Stonehill clinched a tie for its eighth straight Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse regular season championship with a 22-4 league triumph over Southern New Hampshire Thursday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium.

McGrath broke her own school single-game record for assists with seven helpers in the match en route to her fourth 10-point performance of the season for the host Skyhawks (13-1, 9-0 Northeast-10), who raced out to a 14-1 lead at the break. Acone added five goals and five assists on the night for Stonehill, which received four goals each from sophomore All-America Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) as well as a hat trick and two assists from freshman Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.). McGrath also netted a hat trick for the winners, who also received two goals from freshman Michelle Salmon (East Islip, N.Y.), a pair of assists from sophomore Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.) and a single tally from junior Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.).

Freshman Jennifer Parro (Ipswich, Mass.) netted a goal and an assist in the setback for the visiting Penmen (5-3, 4-3 Northeast-10), who also received single markers off the sticks of junior Jennifer Thibault (Montgomery, N.J.) and freshmen Elizabeth Parent (Hinesburg, Vt.) and Maura Murphy (Candia, N.H.) as well as an assist from sophomore Nicole Downey (Rutland, Vt.).

Senior All-America Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.) picked up her 44th career victory in goal for Stonehill with eight saves over a 55-minute stretch, as freshman Justine Ferland (Derry, N.H.) made one stop in the final five-plus minutes of action for the hosts. Senior Lisa McEachern (Scituate, Mass.) made six saves in net for Southern New Hampshire as the Skyhawks outshot the Penmen by a 36-18 margin for the contest.

Stonehill, which also clinched the top seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 playoffs for the eighth straight year, closes out its conference slate on Saturday afternoon by heading to Colchester, Vt. to take on Saint Michael's in a league match that begins at Noon. Southern New Hampshire travels to Smithfield, R.I. on Saturday morning to take on Bryant in a Northeast-10 match-up that begins at 11:30 p.m.
