WALTHAM, Mass.-- Freshman Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) netted a career-high five goals as top-ranked Stonehill extended its NCAA Division II record winning streak to 36 straight and its Northeast-10 Conference win skein to 53 straight with a 14-8 league victory over rival Bentley Tuesday evening at Bentley Field.

The visiting Skyhawks (9-0, 5-0 Northeast-10) erupted for 12 goals after intermission after trailing by a 3-2 margin at the break, as the host Falcons (3-4, 2-3 Northeast-10) added a tally just 54 seconds into the second half to extend their lead to 4-2 before Stonehill netted five unanswered goals, including three by Kelly, to take a 7-4 cushion with 16:44 remaining in the contest. Bentley collected three of the match's next five goals to close to within 9-7 with 4:28 to play, but the Skyhawks scored five of the final six markers of the contest, including two each from Kelly and senior All-America Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.), to post its 65th Northeast-10 triumph in 66 matches since the league's inception in 1999.

Stonehill, whose current overall winning streak dates back to April 2004, received four goals off the stick of sophomore All-America Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) as well as a hat trick and an assist from Acone. Junior Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.) chipped in with a pair of goals for the Skyhawks, who also received three assists from senior All-America Jenny McGrath and an assist from freshman Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.).

Freshmen Alyssa Ritchie (North Andover, Mass.) and Kim Morris (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) each collected a pair of goals and an assist in the setback for Bentley, which also received a goal and an assist from junior Kellyn Riccitelli (Cheshire, Conn.). Junior Katie Van Horne (Liverpool, N.Y.), as well as sophomores Bridget Fitzgerald (Winchester, Mass.) and Liz Goddard (Acton, Mass.), posted single tallies for the Falcons, who also received two assists from sophomore Beth Gendron (Tyngsboro, Mass.).

Senior All-America Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.) picked up her 32nd straight victory in goal for Stonehill with a five-save effort, while senior Lisa Cavallo (Hopkinton, Mass.) made 10 stops in net for Bentley as the Skyhawks outshot the Falcons by a 33-16 margin for the match in claiming their 13th win in 14 series meetings between the teams.

Stonehill hosts third-ranked Adelphi in a re-match of last year's NCAA Division II national semi-finals on Saturday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Bentley hosts Bryant in a Northeast-10 outing on Thursday afternoon at Bentley Field beginning at 4:00 p.m.
