Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

STONEHILL: Stonehill, the top-ranked team in the IWLCA Division II national poll for the fourth straight week, clinched its fifth straight unbeaten Northeast-10 regular season with Saturday's win at Saint Anselm, as the Chieftains won or shared all seven regular season league titles since 1999. Stonehill has now won 48 straight conference regular season matches dating back to April 2000 and is 61-1 all-time in Northeast-10 regular season play since 1999. Sunday's win over seventh-ranked Philadelphia University was Stonehill's fourth over a ranked opponent this season and enabled the Chieftains to match the school record for single-season victories with 17, a mark first established during the 2003 NCAA Division II national championship campaign. Stonehill brings a school-record 23-match winning streak that dates back to April 2004 into the post-season. Junior M Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.), the reigning Northeast-10 Player of the Year, became the fourth player in Stonehill history (and the third this season alone) to reach the 200 career-point plateau with six points in Saturday's victory at Saint Anselm, as she joins senior teammates Colby Confer (Madison, Conn.) and Colette Carpenter (Massapequa, N.Y.) in reaching that mark during the 2005 season. The trio joins former Chieftain standout Katie Lambert in that exclusive club. Stonehill boasts seven players with at least 40 points on the season, as the Chieftains have set a school record for goals in a campaign with 331 to date, breaking the previous mark of 287 set during the 2003 national championship season. Junior G Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.), the reigning Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Year, remains the national leader in both goals against average and saves percentage and tied the school record for single season victories (15) with Sunday's triumph over Philadelphia University. Freshman A Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.) netted a career-high four goals and an assist for five points in Saturday's win over Saint Anselm. Stonehill will host the Northeast-10 championships for the seventh straight season this weekend, as the Chieftains face the winner of the Saint Michael's/Assumption quarterfinal round match in semi-final play on Saturday.
