MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Courtney Duggan (Billerica, Mass.) scored three goals and added three assists for six points as top-ranked Stonehill defeated Southern New Hampshire 20-1 Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 women’s lacrosse match at Larkin Field.

Duggan was one of four players to post a hat trick for the visiting Chieftains (9-0, 5-0 Northeast-10) as Stonehill matched the school record with its 15th consecutive victory dating back to last April and 43rd consecutive Northeast-10 regular season win, improving to 56-1 all-time in league play. Senior All-America Colby Confer (Madison, Conn.), junior Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.) and junior All-America Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.) each scored three goals, as Confer added two assists for five points and McGrath added a helper for a four point performance. Senior Brenna Newfell (North Billerica, Mass.) also recorded four points with a pair of goals and two assists, while senior Colette Carpenter (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) each recorded two goals and an assist for three points. Sophomore Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.) chipped in with a goal and an assist for the winners, while freshman Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.) scored a goal and sophomore Emily Wetmore (Horseheads, N.Y.) added a helper on the afternoon.

Senior Kara Dufour (Exeter, N.H.) scored the lone goal for the host Penmen (5-4, 3-2 Northeast-10) in the second half on an assist from freshman Lucretia Joy (Portland, Maine).

Junior Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.) made five saves in 41 shutout minutes of play in net to earn the victory for Stonehill, while sophomore Kara Conway (Winchester, Mass.) made three saves in the final 19 minutes of action. Freshman Jessica Pyne (Bristol, Conn.) made six saves in net for Southern New Hampshire, as the Chieftains outshot the Penmen by a 36-11 margin.

The nation’s top two teams square off on Tuesday afternoon as top-ranked Stonehill hosts second-ranked West Chester in a non-league match at Chieftain Stadium beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Southern New Hampshire travels to Rindge, N.H. on Tuesday evening for a Northeast-10 outing with Franklin Pierce that begins at 6:00 p.m.
