WORCESTER, Mass.-- Junior All-America Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.) netted six goals and added a pair of assists for eight points as top-ranked Stonehill extended its school-record winning streak to 19 straight with a 24-6 Northeast-10 Conference women’s lacrosse victory over Assumption Tuesday evening at Worcester State College’s Coughlin Field.

The visiting Chieftains (13-0, 7-0 Northeast-10) raced out to a 16-2 advantage at the break in capturing their 45th straight Northeast-10 regular season triumph and improving to 58-1 all-time in conference play, as Stonehill surpassed the 20-goal plateau for the seventh time this season. Senior Colette Carpenter (Massapequa, N.Y.) achieved a personal milestone as well on the night for the visitors, as she became the third player in school history to reach the 200-career point plateau with a goal and an assist in the triumph, joining fellow senior Colby Confer (Madison, Conn.) and former Stonehill All-America Katie Lambert in that club.

Senior Courtney Duggan (Billerica, Mass.) added four goals and three assists in the win for the Chieftains, who also received four goals from Confer as well as a hat trick and two assists for five points from junior Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.). Freshmen Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) and Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.) chipped in with a pair of goals and an assist each for Stonehill, which also received a pair of tallies from senior Brenna Newfell (North Billerica, Mass.) and an assist each off the sticks of junior All-America Kate Sarkissian (Sandwich, Mass.) and sophomore Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.).

Junior Jenny Mongeau (Westboro, Mass.) paced the host Greyhounds (4-6, 3-4 Northeast-10) with four goals and an assist for five points, while senior Lauren Swiatek (Quaker Hill, Conn.) added a pair of goals for Assumption, which also received single assists off the sticks of senior Jessica Dolliver (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) and sophomore Tracey Conboy (Albany, N.Y.).

Junior Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.) picked up her 11th victory of the season in goal for Stonehill, making one save in 37-plus minutes of action, while freshman Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine) played the final 22:50 in net for the visitors. Senior Marjorie Schepp (Middletown, N.J.) made one save in the setback for Assumption as the Chieftains outshot the Greyhounds by a 29-14 margin in claiming their ninth win without a setback in the series.

Stonehill travels to North Andover, Mass. on Wednesday afternoon for a showdown for first place in the Northeast-10 standings with Merrimack that begins at 4:00 p.m., while Assumption travels to Waltham, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to square off with Bentley in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 2:00 p.m.
