North Easton, Mass. - For the second straight game, the Stonehill offense went cold down the stretch and visiting St. Rose took advantage used an aggressive interior game to collect a 71-68 win on Saturday afternoon at Merkert Gymnasium.

The loss drops the Skyhawks to 19-7 overall and into a three-way tie for second at 14-7 with American International and Bentley.

The Golden Knights' Lauren Revesz scored 19 of her game-high 26 points in the second half and converted several tough inside baskets down the stretch to lift St. Rose to the win and the a season sweep over the Skyhawks - something that hasn't happened since the 2006-07 season when Franklin Pierce defeated Stonehill in both of their meetings.

Four of the Skyhawks' seven losses have come at home - a place they entered 2008-09 a combined 24-3 over the past two seasons.

The game was close throughout even though the Skyhawks built an early nine point first half lead. St. Rose kept things close and went into halftime down just one at 34-33, following Dana Brown's jumper from just inside the three-point line as the first half buzzer sounded.

A Kristen McWhirter (Melvin Village, N.H.) triple gave Stonehill its biggest lead of the second half at 37-33 in the opening moments of the frame but the Golden Knights, who shot 54 percent in the final 20 minutes, got easy hoops from Ashley Anderson,  Brown and a three-pointer from Elizabeth Buckley to take the lead.

After a Revesz layup gave Saint Rose its largest lead of the afternoon, 57-52, Stonehill ran off eight straight points - highlighted by five points from McWhirter, including a twisting baseline layup as the shot clock expired - to grab the lead at 60-57 with a little more than five minutes left.

A conventional three-point play by Bethany Tighe (North Easton, Mass.) with 4:35 left however, was the last basket the Skyhawks would convert on the day as Revesz scored 10 points in the final five minutes to buoy the Golden Knights to their 17th win of the season.

Stonehill struggled from the field in the final 20 minutes, connecting on just 38 percent of its shots and over the last two games are a combined 1-for-14 from the field in the final five minutes of those games.
