Through Daryl’s Eyes: Almost Game Time!

Through Daryl's Eyes: Almost Game Time!

Hey again,

7:45am The Good: We get team breakfast. The Bad: It's in my room. The Ugly: Kelsey still sings in her sleep. The Horrible: She is my roommate. (Just Kidding Kels I love you.)

9:00am- After a good hearty breakfast its time to go make Holy Family's gym our new home away from home. Our circle up question of the day was to pick one word to describe how each of us felt being a part of this elite experience. Words like, "Excited", "Anxious", "Proud" and "Ready" summed it all up. We were finally ready to move into our humble abode. (I clearly didn't get the high sock memo though.)

10:00am- This is the portion of the journal where I'd like to tell everyone to air on the side of caution when mixing athletics and academics, untrained student athletes could end up with serious injuries or worse, highlighter on their foot. Friends don't let friends store writing utensils in their sneakers.

11:30 am- After a quick shower the Skyhawks are off once again, this time to explore the very best that Philadelphia has to offer. Who knew it would come with snacks?!

12:00pm- We came upon a massive amount of stairs and we all knew right then and there that we just had to run up them while singing the Rocky theme song. Weird right?

Look who we found!

1:00pm-After an inspiring site, and a strategically planned workout, it was time to do what we do best. Eat, like the petite little flowers that we are.

2:30pm- It has been a long day so far, time for a well-earned nap.

5:30pm- Time to start getting ready for the NCAA banquet at Holy Family. It's okay, you can be impressed. We clean up nice.

6:30pm- As a seasoned Senior, I know that there comes a time when its not all about the competition you face on the court No, no, no its all about who is wearing what at the banquet. And let me tell you, this year the competition was fierce!

Not making the tournament our freshman year, Meg, Stu and myself keep trying to tell the underclass how lucky we are to be here and to make the most of our chance. The point was really driven home when Sandra Michael, an NCAA chair, explained that out of the 297 DII teams in the country only 64 are still playing. One of you 8 teams here, she went on to explain, will be traveling with me to the Elite 8 in Nebraska.? All of a sudden the night stopped being about shoes and started being about our ultimate goal.

Still though, we looked fabulous!

9:00pm- After our nightly meeting and more importantly getting our VIP passes it's finally time to unwind.

11:45pm- Its about that time to get our game faces ready for tomorrows game at 1:00 vs. Bryant.

G'Night SistaGirlfriend! (Thanks Kels)

See you tomorrow!
