Boston, Mass. - Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) headlined another weekend in which the Skyhawks Men's Track and Field team soared.  This time, the Stonehill men turned up at Boston University's Valentine Invitational.  Gill, a senior, led the way for the Skyhawks in the 1 Mile Run.  Teammates Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H./Bow) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn./Ellington) turned in equally impressive performances for the Purple and White as they prepare for the Northeast-10 Champions on February 23rd.

Keith Gill registered the nation's fastest time for Division II Indoor competition with a 4.03.43 mile run.  For the second straight week, Gill broke his personal mark in the event, which is also the school record.  Gill is already an automatic qualifier for the NCAA National Championships.

Teammate Dick Gerry provisionally qualified for the NCAA National Championships after finishing the 1 Mile Run in 4:11.60.  Gerry finished in 31st place for the Stonehill squad.

Other impressive performances for the Skyhawks include senior Tom Woods (Medfield, Mass/Medfield), who finished the 500 Meter Run in 1:06.94.  Woods' time was good enough for 33rd in the event.

Sophomore Josh Andrews (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) continues to contribute on a very talented men's team.  His 36th place finish in the Men's 3000 Meter Run was done in 8:38.12.  Teammate David Metzger returned to form as well for the Skyhawks, finishing the 5000 Meter Run with a time of 14:34.92.  Metzger's time provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA National Championships as well.

Jumpers Joe D'Agostino (Canton, Mass./Canton) and Tyler Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) both registered top-20 finishes in their respective events.  Guilmette, who competes in the Long Jump, leaped 6.77 meters to claim 5th place.  One week after setting the school high jump record, D'Agostino hurdled 6'4" meters to finish 13th.

The men will return to action next week at the Tufts Stampede.  The following week, Saturday, February 23rd, the men will be competing in the Northeast-10 Championships, scheduled for 12 p.m at Southern Connecticut's campus.
