Easton, Mass. - After completing the fastest Division II mile in the country this weekend, Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) has been named Northeast-10 Conference Athlete of the Week.  Gill, a senior, dominated the Men's 1 Mile Run Saturday at the Valentine's Invitational held at Boston University.  Keith was one of three Skyhawks, including Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H./Bow) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn./Ellington) honored by the Conference this week.

Gill's 4:03.43 time bests his earlier mark of 4:07.53, previously the third best time in the nation.  Keith also finished the Mile Run in 4:11.77.  With his most recent domination of the Mile Run, Keith Gill's name now appears three times in the Top-12 fastest Division II finishes in the event.  Gill's time automatically qualifies him for the NCAA National Championships later this season.

Senior Dickie Gerry was recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference in their Weekly Honor Roll.  Gerry finished the Mile Run in 4:11.60.  His time fell just short of the 4:10.80 automatic qualifying mark, however, Gerry did provisionally qualify for the NCAA National Championships by nearly three seconds.

Classmate David Metzger also made the Conference's Weekly Honor Roll for finishing the Men's 5000 Meter Run in 14:34.92, which set a new school record.  Metzger claimed the College's top-spot after defeating his previous record, 14.37.70, set nearly two years ago.  Like Gerry, he also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships for finishing under 14:52.20.

The record-setting men will compete at the Tufts Stampede this Saturday, February.  The event is scheduled for 11 a.m.
