LOWELL, Mass.-- Another day of solid performances was posted by both Stonehill outdoor track and field teams at the non-scoring UMass Lowell George Davis Invitational Saturday afternoon on the Cushing Track, with 18 different individuals recording top three finishes in their respective events.

Senior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) led the way on the men's side for the Skyhawks by winning the 200 meters with a time of 22.32, as he and sophomore Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) finished second and third, respectively, in the 100 meters with times of 10:80 and 10.85 and were part of a winning effort of the 4 X 100 relay along with junior Danny Richter (Bedford, Mass.) and sophomore Tyler Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass.), as the quartet notched a time of 42.60. Senior Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.) and junior Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H.) finished 1-2 in the 800 meters for Stonehill with times of 1:55.91 and 1:56.36, respectively, while freshman Joe D'Agostino (Canton, Mass.) and senior Dana Burbank (North Andover, Mass.) placed second and third, respectively, in the high jump at 1.88 meters.

Guilmette added a second place performance in the long jump (6.62 meters) for the Skyhawks, who also received second place finishes from sophomore Matt Meagher (Mansfield, Mass.) and freshman Tom Kilby (Fall River, Mass.) in the 5,000 meters (15:23.62) and javelin (54.07 meters), respectively. Junior Thomas Woods (Medfield, Mass.) was also second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.39 for Stonehill, while juniors Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) placed 2-3 in the two-mile run with times of 4:25.83 and 4:27.53, respectively.

On the women's side, freshman Meghan Rocha (Nashua, N.H.) broke her own school record in the discus with a mark of 35.61 meters and added another second place finish in the hammer throw (34.96 meters) for the Skyhawks, while freshman Bridget DeVincent (Attleboro, Mass.) took top honors in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:44.71, as fellow freshman Andrea Topalis (Simsbury, Conn.) was third in the event with a time of 18:52.51. Seniors Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) and Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) finished 2-3 in the 3,000 meters with times of 10:17.66 and 10:29.35, respectively, for Stonehill, which also received a third place performance from sophomore Kristina Coriarty (Brockton, Mass.) in the 1,500 meters (4:54.97).

Both Skyhawk squads will be in action next Saturday morning as Stonehill competes at the M.I.T. Invitational in Cambridge, Mass. beginning at 10:00 a.m.
