NEW HAVEN, Conn.-- Both Stonehill outdoor track and field teams posted top eight finishes at the Southern Connecticut Invitational on Saturday afternoon, as the Skyhawk men posted a team score of 81 points to finish as runner-up to the host Owls while the Stonehill women were eighth overall with a team score of 25 points in the competition won by Boston College.

Sophomore Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) and senior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) were victorious in the men's 100 and 200 meters, respectively, with times of 11.17 and 22.51, as Price finished third in the 200 meters (22.87) and Williams was third in the 100 meters (11.27). Senior Dana Burbank (North Andover, Mass.) finished second in the high jump (1.91 meters) and third in the 110 meter hurdles (15.34) for Stonehill, while senior Brandon Beloin (Danielson, Conn.) and sophomore Tyler Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass.) recorded fourth place performances in the 400 meter hurdles (55.34) and long jump (6.80 meters), respectively. Junior Russell Miranda (West Warwick, R.I.) and freshman Joe D'Agostino (Canton, Mass.) placed fifth in the hammer throw (46.13 meters) and high jump (1.86 meters), respectively, while juniors Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H.) and Thomas Woods (Medfield, Mass.) added sixth place performances in the 800 meters (1.56.74) and 400 meter hurdles (56.51), respectively, for the Skyhawks, while the trio of freshman Tom Kilby (Fall River, Mass.), sophomore David Morse (Norwood, Mass.) and senior Brian Dwyer (Norwood, Mass.) finished 4-5-6 in the javelin, with Kilby posting a mark of 49.45 meters. The 4 X 100 relay teams of Guilmette, Price, Williams and junior Danny Richter (Bedford, Mass.) finished second with a time of 42.69, while the 4 X 400 relay squad of Beloin, Woods, Burbank and senior Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.) placed third with a time of 3:22.84.

On the women's side, senior Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) captured top honors in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:39.67, while sophomore Jenny Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) and senior Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) placed fourth and fifth in the 5,000 meters, respectively, with times of 18:29.62 and 18:53.37. Senior Colleen Burbank (Dedham, Mass.) and freshman Meghan Rocha (Nashua, N.H.) placed fourth in the triple jump (9.95 meters) and discus (34.71 meters), respectively, while freshman Megan Breault (Dayville, Conn.) finished sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.63.

Both Stonehill squads are set for three respective competitions next weekend, as the Skyhawks will have individuals competing at the Princeton Howell Invitational as well as the University of Texas Relays and both teams competing at the Bryant Invitational next Saturday morning in Smithfield, R.I. beginning at 10:00 a.m.
