NEW HAVEN, Conn.-- The Stonehill men's indoor track and field team posted the highest team score and finish in school history at the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championships Friday evening at Southern Connecticut's Moore Fieldhouse, as the Skyhawks' mark of 140 points was good for the runner-up spot in the eight team field behind the host Owls and 18 points better than third place UMass Lowell.

Freshman Josh Andrews (Chelmsford, Mass.) was named as the 2007 Northeast-10 Co-Freshman of the Year in a vote of the league's coaches, as he captured first place honors in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:41.23 and was part of the winning 4 X 800 relay that posted a time of 8:00.95. Sophomore Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) broke his own school record in winning the 55 meters with a time of 6.36 while placing second in the 200 meters (22.61) for Stonehill, which also received first place individual efforts from seniors Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.) and Dana Burbank (North Andover, Mass.) in the 500 meters (1:06.42) and high jump (6 feet, 4 ¾ inches), respectively, as well as juniors Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) and Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) in the 1000 meters (2:30.39) and 3,000 meters (8:51.40), respectively. Hebert, Ryan and Gill joined Andrews in forming the winning 4 X 800 relay time for the Skyhawks, while the quartet of senior Tim Cattogio (Bradford, Mass.), juniors Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H.) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) and sophomore Mark Porcaro (Medfield, Mass.) posting a winning time of 10:37.83 in taking top honors in the distance medley relay.

Cattogio finished as the runner-up to Andrews in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:51.76 for Stonehill, which also received a second place effort from sophomore Matt Meagher (Mansfield, Mass.) in the 3,000 meters (8:55.77). Metzger and Geary each posted third place performances in the mile and 800 meters, respectively, for the Skyhawks, with times of 4:23.91 and 1:58.19.

Stonehill will compete next weekend at the 2007 All-New England Championships at Boston University, as action on both Friday and Saturday begins at 10:00 a.m.
