BOSTON, Mass.-- A total of seven individuals earned all-New England honors for both Stonehill indoor track and field teams over the weekend at the 2007 New England Championships at Boston University, as both Skyhawk squads posted their highest finish ever in the competition, with the men placing ninth and the women 19th among 44 schools entered in the championships.

Five individuals earned all-New England accolades on the men's side for Stonehill, which posted a team score of 35 points and outdistanced seven Division I entrants in the process. Junior Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) led the way with a runner-up finish in the 1,000 meters, as he posted a time of 2:27.79 to finish just .72 seconds behind UConn's Brian Gagnon, while senior Dana Burbank (North Andover, Mass.) added a third place finish in the heptathlon with 4,511 points. Senior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) was fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 21.90 and also qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championships to be hosted by Stonehill in two weeks at the Reggie Lewis Center, while sophomore Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) added a fourth place performance in the 55 meters with a time of 6.40. Junior Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) rounded out the quintet of all-New England performers for the Skyhawks by placing sixth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:54.68, while the 4 X 800 relay team of Gill, senior Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.) and juniors Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H.) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) finished second to UConn in the event in a school record time of 7:40.95 to also captured all-New England honors.

On the women's side, senior Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) earned all-New England honors in the mile with a fifth place time of 4:58.35, as she qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championships as well in the process. Sophomore Kristina Coriarty (Brockton, Mass.) also earned all-New England accolades in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:58.76 that was good for seventh place, while senior Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA championships in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:47.53, good for 10th place in the event.

The Stonehill men will be back at Boston University next weekend to compete in the IC4A Championships at the Case Center beginning on Saturday and continuing on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on both days.
