Skyhawks Take Second Straight With 5-1 Win

Kissimmee, Fla. - Gina Vivona's (Seaford, N.Y.) 3-for-3 performance led a 10-hit Stonehill attack as the Skyhawks defeated West Virginia Wesleyan, 5-1 at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla.

Stonehill did all of its scoring in the third inning, to back an excellent outing from senior Danielle Mason (Salisbury, Mass.), who tossed a complete game seven-hitter. She allowed one earned run and struck out two to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Six singles scattered around the inning along with a Wesleyan error, produced the five runs, with two coming on the bat of a Vivona base hit.

Another came from a Stephanie Folan (Glen Cove, N.Y.) base hit that ended up being the final batter for Wesleyan starter Amber Collier.

Folan rapped out two hits, while the Skyhawks also got run scoring hits from Kristen Clark (Brockton, Mass.) and Yesenia Marrero (Brockton, Mass.).
