Easton, Mass. - Stonehill senior Jaime Ippolito (Chelsea, Mass.) tossed the first perfect game in the history of Stonehill softball, retiring all 21 Franklin Pierce batters she faced as the Skyhawks claimed a 6-0 victory over the visiting Ravens on Thursday afternoon on Fr. Gartland Field.

Ippolito, who picked up a win in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Merrimack, recorded three strikeouts, 11 groundouts and seven flyouts to pickup her fifth win of the season. All three of her strikeouts came in the sixth when she struck out the side. The no-hitter is only the third in school history.

Stonehill got all the runs it would need in the first when Courtney Young (Danvers, Mass.) singled home Stephanie Folan (Glen Cove, N.Y.), who led off the inning with a walk. The Skyhawks tacked on another run in the second with back-to-back one-out doubles from Kristen Clark (Brockton, Mass.) and Gina Vivona (Seaford, N.Y.).

Ippolito got excellent support from her defense including a great catch from Clark in the fourth on a foul ball near the Stonehill dugout.

Three straight singles in the bottom of the fourth plated another run and Young provided the game's offensive highlight with a towering blast to left center, her team-leading fifth homer of the season.

Stonehill had 11 hits, with Young, Vivona, Clark and Lauren Polselli (Portsmouth, R.I.) all registering a pair.
