EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Lindsay Spaziani (Horseheads, N.Y.) and sophomore Jennifer Farrelly (Latham, N.Y.) each collected four hits as LeMoyne swept a Northeast-10 Conference softball doubleheader from Stonehill by scores of 2-0 in eight innings in the opener and 5-1 in the nightcap in games played Saturday afternoon at Gartland Field.

Junior Sarah Reed (DeWitt, N.Y.) of the visiting Dolphins (19-12, 12-3 Northeast-10) outdueled freshman Kait Mendall (Middleboro, Mass.) of the host Skyhawks (8-18, 7-9 Northeast-10) in the opener, as the two teams were scoreless into the eighth frame when Spaziani and junior Kortney Meadows (Orchard Park, N.Y.) led off the top of the inning with singles for LeMoyne and were plated on a pair of RBI singles by sophomore Caitlin O'Neill (Pittsford, N.Y.) and Reed, who scattered four hits and struck out two in improving to 5-4 on the mound. Sophomore Meghan Sheehy (East Islip, N.Y.) rapped out a pair of doubles in the opening setback for Stonehill, as Mendall fanned four in 7 1/3 innings of work to fall to 3-5 on the season.

The Dolphins scored all of their runs over the first three innings of the nightcap, as Spaziani crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the first and provided an RBI single in the second. An RBI triple by senior Kristen DesLauriers (Liverpool, N.Y.) that was followed by a run scoring double of fthe bat of Farrelly extended LeMoyne's lead to 5-0, and the visitors' final run came on a throwing error in the third frame. Stonehill got on the board in the sixth on an RBI single by sophomore Kate Brides (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and had the tying run in the on-deck circle in the seventh but was unable to score. Meadows joined Spaziani and Farrelly with two hits each in the nightcap triumph for LeMoyne, as junior Caylinn Christopherson (Norwich, N.Y.) scattered six hits in six innings of work to improve to 6-2 on the mound for the Dolphins. Junior Stephanie Folan (Glen Cove, N.Y.) rapped out a pair of hits in the nightcap setback for Stonehill, which also received Sheehy's third double of the afternoon as junior Danielle Mason (Salisbury, Mass.) took the loss on the mound.

Stonehill hosts Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 twinbill on Sunday afternoon at Gartland Field beginning at Noon, while LeMoyne heads to Smithfield, R.I. to take on Bryant in a Northeast-10 doubleheader that also begins at Noon.
