Softball Set To Resume Northern Schedule Saturday Afternoon With Non-League Twinbill At Dowling, Skyhawks Off To Best Start In Five Years After Successful Sunshine State Swing

After posting its best performance ever at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando over Spring Break, the Skyhawk softball team is set to resume play this weekend by heading to Oakdale, N.Y. to take on Dowling in a non-league doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. Stonehill, 5-5 under third-year Head Coach Danielle Delude, posted five wins in its last six contests in Florida, including a come-from-behind 4-3 triumph over 24th-ranked C.W. Post.

Senior Brook Capello (Hanover, Mass.) and freshman Courtney Young (Danvers, Mass.), last week's Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week, are leading the Skyhawk hit parade at .385 and .360, respectively, while sophomore Lauren Rappoli (Wilmington, Mass.) checks in at .344. Sophomore Danielle Mason (Salisbury, Mass.) is 3-1 on the mound for the Skyhawks to date with a 3.00 earned run average.

Stonehill is set to open its Northeast-10 Conference slate on Saturday, April 1st with a league twinbill against LeMoyne in Syracuse, N.Y. at Noon.
