SMITHFIELD, R.I.-- Senior Matt Grabala (Bristol, Conn.) and freshman Mike Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass.) each won in both singles and doubles action as Stonehill clinched second place in the Northeast-10 Conference men's tennis standings with a 5-4 league dual-match triumph over Bryant Saturday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Complex.

Grabala and Mashkevich each won straight set decisions at the top two singles spots for the visiting Skyhawks (13-4, 9-1 Northeast-10) and then teamed up for a key 9-8 victory at number two doubles, taking a 10-8 decision in the tie-breaker. Sophomores Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I.) and Will Herchel (Hampden, Mass.) provided the other two points of the day with straight set triumphs at the numbers three and five singles positions for Stonehill, which tied the second highest single-season win total in school history.

Senior Zach Goodman (Amherst, Mass.) and sophomore Kevin Levinson (Pawcatuck, Conn.) were victorious in both singles and doubles play for the host Bulldogs (9-6, 7-3 Northeast-10), as Goodman teamed up with freshman Dylan Whiting (Florence, Mass.) for an 8-2 win at number one doubles while Levinson and freshman Matt Shepard-Lupo (West Boothbay Harbor, Maine) were 8-3 winner at the number three doubles spot.

Stonehill's scheduled Northeast-10 dual-match with Saint Anselm that was to have been played Sunday afternoon on the Stonehill Courts has already been postponed by the impending inclement weather in the region, as the two teams will now close out their respective regular season schedules on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m. Bryant travels to Worcester, Mass. on Sunday afternoon to take on Assumption in a Northeast-10 dual-match that begins at 1:00 p.m.
