MANCHESTER, N.H.-- The Stonehill men's tennis team posted its eighth straight victory and reached the 12-win plateau for the second time in school history by sweeping a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match decision from Saint Anselm at the Carr Center.

Senior Michael Pelaggi (Dedham, Mass.), juniors Andy DeVita (Milford, Mass.) and Al Santosuosso (Reading, Mass.), sophomore John McGaffigan (Dedham, Mass.) and freshman Will Herchel (Hampden, Mass.) each notched wins in both singles and doubles play for the visiting Skyhawks (12-2, 8-0 Northeast-10), who also received a straight-set triumph at number five singles from senior Matt Hansen (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.). DeVita teamed with sophomore Michael Allen (Norwell, Mass.) for an 8-2 victory at the number two doubles spot as well for Stonehill, whose current win total of 12 is one shy of the school single-season mark of 13 victories set during the 1978 season.

The host Hawks fall to 0-6 both overall and in Northeast-10 play with the setback.

Stonehill hosts Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 dual-match on Thursday afternoon on the Stonehill Courts beginning at 2:30 p.m., while Saint Anselm hosts Saint Michael's in a league outing on Thursday afternoon at the Carr Center at 3:30 p.m.
