EASTON, Mass.-- The Stonehill men's tennis team tied the school single-season record for victories on Thursday afternoon by posting a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Franklin Pierce on the Stonehill Courts.

The host Skyhawks, now 13-2 overall and a perfect 9-0 in Northeast-10 play, tied the 1978 squad's single-season mark of 13 victories and ran their overall winning streak to nine straight in the process. Senior Michael Pelaggi (Dedham, Mass.), junior Andy DeVita (Milford, Mass.), sophomore John McGaffigan (Dedham, Mass.) and freshmen Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I.) and Will Herchel (Hampden, Mass.) each collected wins in both singles and doubles play for Stonehill, which also received a straight set triumph at number six singles from senior Matt Hansen (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.). Allegretti, this week's Northeast-10 Player and Freshman of the Week, teamed with junior Matt Grabala (Bristol, Conn.) for an 8-0 win at number two doubles for the hosts.

The visiting Ravens fall to 1-6 both overall and in Northeast-10 play with the result.
