Easton, Mass. - St. Anselm used a quick first half goal and controlled the ball for much of the second period to drop Stonehill 1-0 at Skyhawk Field on Saturday

The Hawks came out the aggressor, denying the Skyhawks any shots at the goal early, while pushing the ball up the field.

St. Anselm was rewarded when freshman Keesan Howe took a Sam Lempty pass at the middle of the 18 and fired it past junior keeper Brian Guerrini (Glastonbury, Conn.) for a 1-0 lead at the 11:26 mark.

The Skyhawks were unable to counter, recording just two shots for the remainder of the half.

In the second, the Hawks once again took control of the ball, passing it and taking time to set up shots.  Guerrini however, denied St. Anselm and recorded four second half saves.

Stonehill meanwhile, had just one shot in the second half as they drop to 3-6-2 and 1-6-1 in the Northeast-10.

The Skyhawks return to action when they host Bloomfield on Monday at 3:00 pm.
