EASTON, Mass.-- Second half goals by senior Onekie Mitchell (Yonkers, N.Y.) and freshman Kevin Woods (Alyth, Scotland) lifted Southern New Hampshire to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer victory over Stonehill Wednesday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.

The two teams played a scoreless first half of action before Mitchell gave the visiting Penmen (4-1-2, 3-0-2 Northeast-10) the only goal they would need in the 62nd minute of play with an unassisted tally. Woods provided an insurance marker just 3:20 later when he converted a feed from senior Bobby Dufour (Hudson, N.H.), and junior Dan Pelc (Hamilton, Ont.) took care of the rest in goal for Southern New Hampshire, making four saves to record his fourth shutout of the season.

Sophomore Danny Kerl (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) made five stops in net for the host Skyhawks (3-3, 2-3 Northeast-10) on the afternoon, as the Penmen outshot Stonehill by a 14-5 margin for the contest.

Stonehill travels to North Andover, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on New Haven in first round play of the Merrimack Invitational that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Southern New Hampshire travels to Oakdale, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon to take on Dowling in a non-league match that also begins at 1:00 p.m.
