EASTON, Mass.-- Goals by senior Michael Anania (Warren, R.I.) and junior Justin Stepnowski (Glastonbury, Conn.) lifted Bryant to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference men’s soccer victory over Stonehill Tuesday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.
Anania gave the visiting Bulldogs (4-4-3, 4-3-2 Northeast-10) the only goal they would need in the 33rd minute of play when he scored off a deflection in front, and Stepnowski provided an insurance tally for the visitors in the 55th minute when he netted an unassisted marker from the left side to account for the final score.
Junior Alex Bissias (Harpswell, Maine) picked up the win in goal for Bryant with a five-save effort in net, while senior Chad Etting (Plymouth, Conn.) made four stops in goal for the host Skyhawks (3-7-1, 2-5 Northeast-10) as the Bulldogs outshot Stonehill by a 23-9 margin for the contest.
Stonehill hosts Saint Michael’s in a Northeast-10 outing on Friday afternoon at Skyhawk Field beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Bryant hosts Merrimack in a Northeast-10 match on Saturday morning in Smithfield, R.I. beginning at 10:00 a.m.
