Skyhawks On Top In Preseason Coaches Poll  

Cape Cod, Mass. - Stonehill was named the top team in the Northeast Hockey League Division II Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the conference on Thursday. 

The Skyhawks received three first place votes after after finishing with a 9-6-1 conference record and 12-11-2 overall. 

Southern New Hampshire was picked to finish second in the conference, while Franklin Pierce and Assumption round out the top four. 

Stonehill was led last season by junior captain Brendan O'Brian (Braintree, Mass.), who had 22 goals and eight assists for the Skyhawks.  

Goalie Mike Manna (Framingham, Mass.) also returns after a freshman campaign that saw him win Goaltender of the Year in the Northeast-10 and also Co-Freshman of the year. 

The Skyhawks open the season at their new home in the Foxboro Sports Center when they host Plymouth State on November 13 with game time set for 7:00 pm.
