BOSTON, Mass.-- Freshman Michael O'Brien's (Royersford, Pa.) power play goal with 7:01 remaining snapped a 2-2 tie and propelled Wentworth to a 4-2 ECAC Northeast ice hockey victory over Stonehill Tuesday evening at Matthews Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw after 40 minutes of action before the host Leopards (9-7-3, 6-1-2 ECAC Northeast) took a 2-1 edge 2:59 into the final stanza on freshman Jeff Olitch's (Calgary, Alta.) second marker of the contest. The visiting Skyhawks (4-9, 3-7 ECAC Northeast) evened matters for the third time on the night on sophomore Frank Cavaliere's (Winthrop, Mass.) tally with 9:53 remaining, setting up O'Brien's heroics just 2:52 later. Sophomore Dave Lewandowski's (Glenmore, Pa.) empty-net power play goal with 42 seconds to play iced the triumph for Wentworth.

Stonehill grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 11:43 mark of the second period on freshman Chris Rogers's (Westford, Mass.) power play goal, but Olitch evened matters for the Leopards with 2:57 remaining in the stanza on a 4-on-4 situation, setting up the high scoring final 20 minutes of play.

Lewandowski added an assist to his goal to finish with two points in the win for Wentworth, which also received three assists from senior Ryan Singer (Kamloops, B.C.), two assists from sophomore Dillon Rioux (Rocklin, Calif.) and single helpers from sophomore Derek Rupert (Louisville, N.Y.) and freshman Martin Winzer (Nuremberg, Germany).
