BRIDGEWATER, Mass.-- Sophomore James Florentino (West Roxbury, Mass.) netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 7:24 remaining, and added an assist for three points as Stonehill notched its fifth straight victory and ran its unbeaten streak to seven with a 5-3 non-league college ice hockey triumph over Becker Saturday afternoon at the Bridgewater Ice Arena.

The host Skyhawks (11-10-1) trailed 3-2 heading into the final 20 minutes of play before sophomore Frank Amato's (West Springfield, Mass.) marker 2:06 into the frame evened matters, and Florentino gave Stonehill the lead for good with his second of the day on a feed from sophomore Paul Reissfelder (Plymouth, Mass.) at the 12:36 mark. Junior Matt Curran's (Scarborough, Maine) empty-net power play goal (his second tally of the game) with seven seconds remaining iced the triumph for the hosts, who are now 10-3-1 overall in their last 14 outings dating back to December 6th.

Freshmen Mike Caprio (Valencia, Calif.) and Phil Pinkham (Buxton, Maine) staked the visiting Hawks (2-16-2) to an early 2-0 lead just 12:47 into the contest before Curran's power play goal with 3:24 remaining in the opening stanza sliced Stonehill's deficit in half. Florentino's first goal of the afternoon a feed from sophomore Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) with 2:46 remaining in the middle period evened matters for the Skyhawks, but Caprio's second score of the day just 19 seconds later gave Becker a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes of action, setting up the three goal Stonehill outburst in the third.

O'Brien finished with a pair of assists in the win for Stonehill, which also received single helpers off the sticks of junior Anthony Zanetti (Ludlow, Mass.), sophomore Billy Ninteau (Litchfield, N.H.) and freshman Pete Roundy (Simsbury, Conn.). Freshmen Kevin Switek (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Derek Stabile (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) each added a pair of assists on both of Caprio's goals in the setback for Becker, which also received helpers from sophomore Andrew Scampoli (Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Joe Dorney (Williamsburg, Pa.) on Pinkham's marker.

Senior Josh Green (Mendon, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Stonehill with a 26-save effort, while freshman Anthony Oliveira (Stratham, N.H.) made 34 stops in net for Becker as the Skyhawks outshot the Hawks by a 38-29 margin in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Stonehill hosts Saint Michael's in a key Northeast-10 Conference outing on Tuesday evening at the Bridgewater Ice Arena beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Becker hosts Morrisville in a non-league contest next Friday evening in Marlboro, Mass. at 7:00 p.m.
