BOSTON, Mass.-- Freshman Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) netted a pair of goals and added two assists for four points as Stonehill collected its sixth straight victory with a 9-3 non-league college ice hockey triumph over Suffolk Saturday afternoon at Walter Brown Arena.

The visiting Skyhawks (9-6), who have won six straight for the first time in 16 years, jumped out to a quick 3-0 advantage in the first 15:57 of play on goals by O'Brien and sophomores John Durkin (Scituate, Mass.) and Anthony Zanetti (Ludlow, Mass.), and Stonehill added two more tallies in the middle stanza in taking a 5-1 cushion after two, with O'Brien and junior Matt Pollara (Plymouth, Mass.) scoring in the second for the visitors. The Skyhawks added four more markers in the final 20 minutes of play off the sticks of seniors Brian Lewis (Cohasset, Mass.) and Brian Dudley (Waltham, Mass.) as well as sophomores Rob Carpenter (Cohasset, Mass.) and Chase Feole (Windham, N.H.) to close out the scoring.

Pollara added a pair of assists to go with his goal to finish with three points in the win for Stonehill, which also received a pair of helpers off the sticks of sophomores Brian Davis (Foxboro, Mass.) and Matt Curran (Scarborough, Maine). Dudley, Lewis, Zanetti and Durkin each added single assists in the triumph for the Skyhawks, who also received helpers off the sticks of seniors Andrew Joy (Vernon, Conn.), Craig Pasquantonio (Randolph, Mass.) and Billy Sylvia (Acushnet, Mass.) as well as junior Evan Spencer (Billerica, Mass.).

Sophomore Joe Diorio (Newington, Conn.) netted a pair of goals in the setback for the host Rams (4-9-4), who also received a tally from junior John Delaney (Quincy, Mass.) as well as an assist off the stick of sophomore Nick Correa (Miami, Fla.).

Junior Josh Green (Mendon, Mass.) improved to 6-0 in goal for Stonehill by stopping 11 of 12 shots in the first two periods of play, as senior Billy Petrucci (East Bridgewater, Mass.) made 10 saves in the final stanza for the visitors. Senior Greg Blais (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) made 36 stops over the first 40 minutes of action in net for Suffolk, while freshman Mark Grignon (Grosse Point, Mich.) made 19 saves in the third period for the hosts as the Skyhawks outshot the Rams by a commanding 59-24 margin for the contest.
