Rico DePaolis is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Stonehill men's basketball program.

DePaolis helped lead Stonehill back into postseason play for the first time in two seasons during the 2014-15 campaign. The Skyhawks posted a 19-10 record overall, including a 14-7 mark in the Northeast-10 to finish tied for second in the Northeast Division standings. Stonehill would earn its 13th NCAA Tournament bid.

"Rico is a tireless worker who is a great mentor to our players," said head coach Chris Kraus. "He is excited to learn and grow as a coach and will be a great fit for our staff, program and Stonehill community.”

DePaolis joined Coach Kraus' coaching staff after serving as associate head coach at Wheelock College for head coach Matt LeVangie, a former Stonehill assistant coach. DePaolis assisted LeVangie in recruiting, scouting, scheduling and practice preparation for the Wildcats squad.

DePaolis has also earned coaching experience with Rise Above Basketball, an AAU program located on the South Shore of Massachusetts. He has coached age groups from 8-15 years old, while also assisting in the program's camps, clinics and individual training sessions.

DePaolis is a 2013 graduate of Framingham State University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree as a dual major in sociology and psychology. He was a four year letterwinner on the Rams' men's basketball team, serving as captain for two years. He played 81 games, starting 43, and led the Rams in assists and three-point field goals as a senior, leading the MASCAC in three-point field goal percentage his junior year when he shot 43-percent from beyond the arc.

DePaolis, a native of Watertown, Massachusetts, also works as a special education teacher for the Waltham Public School system.
