Junior Nick Smith is closing in on 1,000 career points.

North Easton, Mass. - Riding a season-best three game winning streak, Stonehill opens the second half of its season with an important test against visiting St. Anselm on Wednesday night.

The Skyhawks are fresh off of Sunday's 91-84 win over Dominican College, a game that saw them overcome an early deficit to build a 16 point lead and take the seven point victory. A.J. Rudowitz (Monroe Township, N.J.) led the way for Stonehill in the win over the Chargers with 21 points while Nick Smith (Colonia, N.J.) added 20.

During the three-game streak, the Skyhawks are outscoring their opponents by nearly 12 points a game and shooting 54 percent from the field. Stonehill has been aided by excellent shooting from behind the arc as well, connecting on 29-of-59 attempts.

Smith has been the anchor of the stretch with two 20+ point games and a 17 point per game average. He is shooting 65 percent from the field and an amazing 60 percent from three-point land. He erupted for six threes and 24 points in a win over Mercy back on December 20.

Rudowitz has also been hot from the floor, making 18-of-29 shots and freshman Vince Rosario (Perth Amboy, N.J.) has made eight of his last 14 three-pointers, including 5-of-7 in the win over Dominican.

The Hawks, meanwhile are coming off of a 64-60 home loss to a Mercy squad the Skyhawks knocked off by 24 points.

At 5-5 overall, St. Anselm's is led by senior guard, Chris Vetrano, who is averaging 17 points per game but shooting just 37 percent from the floor. Scoring also comes from freshman John Tello (10.6) and senior guard Junior Mitchell (9.6), who scored a career-high 25 in last year's first meeting, a 91-80 Stonehill win.
