Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Matt Curran, Stonehill (So., F, Scarborough, ME) - Netted a hat trick and added a pair of assists for five points in a 7-3 over Assumption. Added an assist in a 5-4 setback to Saint Anselm to finish with a six-point week.

Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Josh Green, Stonehill (Jr., G, Mendon, MA) Posted a 1-1 mark with a 4.03 GAA and .896 saves percentage, including 32 saves in a 7-3 win over Assumption and 37 stops in a 5-4 setback to Saint Anselm.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Brendan O'Brien, Stonehill (Fr., F, Braintree, MA) Netted a goal and five assists for six points, including four assists in a 7-3 win over Assumption and a goal and an assist in a 5-4 setback to Saint Anselm.

STONEHILL: Stonehill's Northeast-10 quarterfinal round win over Assumption on Friday evening enabled the Skyhawks to tie the school single season record for victories with their 14th triumph, matching the mark first set during the 1989-90 season and accomplished again by the 2001-2002 squad. Stonehill has advanced to the Northeast-10/ECAC Division II semi-finals for the third time in the seven-year history of the championship and for the second time in three seasons...Freshman F Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, MA) tied his career-high as well as the Stonehill single game record for assists with four helpers in Friday's quarterfinal round win over Assumption. Sophomore F Matt Curran's (Scarborough, ME) first career hat trick was part of a career-high five point evening, the third highest single-game point total in school history. Junior G Josh Green (Mendon, MA) picked up his 10th win of the season in Friday's quarterfinal round triumph over Assumption, becoming the third netminder in Skyhawk history to reach double-digits in the victory column in a single season. Stonehill and Saint Anselm will meet for the second time in eight days in Wednesday's semi-final match-up in Manchester, as the Skyhawks raced out to a 4-0 second period lead last Tuesday evening in the regular season finale only to see the Hawks score five times in the final 15-plus minutes of the period and hold on for a 5-4 victory. Wednesday's semi-final game will be mark the second time the two schools have hooked up in post-season play, as Saint Anselm bested Stonehill by a goal in the 2002 Northeast-10 semi-finals...
