North Andover, Mass. - Behind a two goal performance from junior Claire Hourihan (East Amherst, N.Y.), Stonehill rolled to its third straight victory, this time a 6-1 win over host Merrimack on Thursday afternoon.

With the win, Stonehill improves to 3-4 overall and evens its Northeast-10 Conference ledger to 3-3. Merrimack meanwhile, slips to 2-5 overall and 2-4 in league action.

The Warriors actually took a 1-0 lead 11 minutes in following Jessica DeLacey's third goal of the season.

Stonehill responded, five minutes later, however, as Stephanie Kott (Rutland, Mass.) and Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine) set up Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) for her second goal of the season. Less than three minutes later, Laura Nimon (Gardiner, Maine) scored an unassisted tally, giving the Skyhawks a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.) capped the first half scoring with her third marker of the season when she found the back of the cage at 22:53.

The scoring for Stonehill continued in the opening moments of the second half as Hourihan banged home a pair of goal less than five minutes into the half.

Freshman Kathryn Nelson (Shrewsbury, Mass.) rounded out the scoring when she connected with Sullivan for her second goal in as many contests with just ten seconds remaining.

Sophomore netminder Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass.) needed to only make one save to pick up her third win of the season.

Stonehill held heavy advantages in penalty corners (17-2) and shots (16-3).

The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday with a 12 p.m. meeting with Franklin Pierce at W.B. Mason Stadium.
