Hourihan Named Co-Player of the Week

Easton, Mass. - Junior Claire Hourihan (East Amherst, N.Y.) has been named Northeast-10 Co-Player of the Week it was announced by the Conference office on Monday afternoon.

Hourihan has been an offensive force for the resurgent Skyhawks, who now sit in third place in the Northeast-10 standings at 7-5 overall and 7-4 in league play entering Wednesday's matchup with Southern Connecticut.

In two contests last week, she racked up three goals, helping Stonehill go 1-1. In the 2-1 overtime loss to UMass-Lowell, she scored a goal with 11 seconds left in regulation to force the extra frame, and then in a 3-0 win over St. Michael's, she registered a pair of scores.

Her 12 goals and 28 points this season are more goals and points than she had in her first two seasons combined. This breakout season for her has a historical perspective as well. Her goal and point totals are both sixth highest in school history.

Hourihan shares the weekly honor with Bentley's Courtney Barlett who scored three goals in wins over St. Michael's and American International.
