Three Unanswered Goals Push Skyhawks To 5-2 Win

Worcester, Mass. - With the score tied at 2-2, Stonehill scored three goals in the final 10:48 to knock off host Assumption on Wednesday night in the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The Skyhawks took a 1-0 lead as senior Laura Nimon (Gardiner, Maine) scored on a rebound in front with junior forward Claire Hourihan (East Amherst, N.Y.) assisting with 23:02 left in the first half. The Greyhounds came back to tie the game with 5:12 left when junior forward April Brunelle scored on a feed from junior Hillary Zysk.

With 32:48 left in the second half the Skyhawks took a 2-1 lead as Hourihan scored an unassisted goal. The Greyhounds then tied the game with 14:07 left as junior defender Michelle Pasquale answered with an unassisted goal of her own.

The Skyhawks responded, however, with three straight goals to put the game away.

Sophomore midfielder Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine) scored off a scramble assisted by senior Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) with 10:48 left.

Reigning Northeast-10 Player of the Week, junior Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.) scored the final two goals to wrap up the scoring.

Sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass.) made just one save for the Skyhawks, while senior goalie Jacque DuLong made 16 for the Greyhounds.

Stonehill which outshot the Greyhounds, 28-4, improves to 11-7 overall, while Assumption drops to 2-17.
