Second Half Explosion Leads to 4-0 Win For Skyhawks

Philadelphia, Pa. - Even after thoroughly dominating the first half of action, including outshooting its opponent 15-3, Stonehill had nothing to show for it. All that changed in the second half as the Skyhawks scored four unanswered goals en route to a 4-0 win over host Philadelphia University.

Senior Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.) continued her offensive onslaught to open the 2007 season notching two more goals, while classmate Caitlin Gleason (Goffstown, N.H.) added a goal and an assist for her first points of the season as the Skyhawks improved to 2-0.

Gleason opened the scoring with her tally a little more than 10 minutes into the second half. Boulis then tacked on her fourth goal of the season less than two minutes later off an assist from sophomore standout Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.).

The Skyhawks peppered Rams goalkeeper Jessica Snyder with 20 shots on goal, forcing her to make 16 saves, while Stonehill netminder Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) only needed to make one save for her 24th career shutout.

Boulis scored her second goal of the game when she teamed up with Colleen McLaughlin (Methuen, Mass.) to put Stonehill up, 3-0. The final goal came with exactly a minute to play, when senior Morgan Davis (Walpole, Mass.) found the back of the cage with help from Gleason.

The Skyhawks return to action on Wednesday when they head to St. Michael's for their first Northeast-10 match of the season.
