Lowell, Mass. - The River Hawks' Jaci Moulton scored the game-winning goal nine minutes into overtime as No. 4 UMass Lowell, erased a 2-0 second half deficit to post a 3-2 win over No. 9 Stonehill, 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Cushing Field.

With the win, UMass-Lowell earns a split of the season series with Stonehill after the Skyhawks took the first matchup of the season with a 3-1 win in early September.

It looked as if the result would be similar to their first meeting after the Skyhawks jumped out with two quick goals early in the second half.

Claire Hourihan (East Amherst, N.Y.) played a part in both Stonehill goals. She notched her seventh tally of the season at 36:16 when Laura Nimon (Gardiner, Maine) helped her out with a scramble in front of the net.

Less than two minutes later, Hourihan found Caitlin Gleason (New Boston, N.H.) for her 10th score of the season and fourth in the last two contests.

Stonehill kept the River Hawks off the board until the 66th minute when Jayne Vagenas scored only her second goal of the season.

Two minutes later, Liz Day and Molly Clay teamed up to even the score with 2:55 remaining, setting up the extra frame.

The shots on goal were close, with Stonehill holding a slight edge (8-6) but UMass-Lowell held huge advantage in penalty corners (16-6) including a whopping edge of 14-2 in the second half and overtime.

Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) made five saves in goal for Stonehill, while River Hawk netminder Danielle Dodier made four saves to earn her 15th win of the season.

Stonehill, which qualifies for the Northeast-10 tournament, finishes the regular season 15-5 overall and 12-4 in Conference play.
