Nimon Rewarded For Clutch Plays With NE-10 Weekly Honor

Laura Nimon is the third Skyhawk to be named Northeast-10 Player of the Week this season.

North Easton, Mass. - After scoring two overtime goals to lead the Skyhawks to two Northeast-10 wins last week, junior Laura Nimon (Gardiner, Maine) has been named Conference player of the week it was announced on Monday.

Nimon, who entered last Thursday's game with American International with just one goal on the season, rattled the cage for two scores, including the gamewinner in the second overtime in the 3-2 win.

Then in Saturday's closely contested matchup with St. Michael's, Nimon scored the game's lone goal, her fourth of the season, with the 32 seconds left in the first overtime to give Stonehill a 1-0 win and its Conference-leading 11th win of the season.

Nimon is the third Stonehill player to receive the weekly honor this year joining Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.), who has won the award on two occasions and Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.).

Stonehill, which faces Conference rival Bentley on Thursday in Waltham, with both teams sitting at 9-1 in Northeast-10 action, has won four games in a row, all by one goal.
