Ladino Named NE-10 Player of the Week

North Easton, Mass. - Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.) has been named Northeast-10 Field Hockey player of the week it was announced for games ending September 3rd.

Ladino played a huge role in the Skyhawks 2-0 week, as they knocked off St. Michael's and previously ranked No. 2 UMass-Lowell. The win over the Purple Knights was the first for Stonehill in Colchester since 2002. In that contest, Ladino had an assist on Kerri Sullivan's goal that tied the score at 1-1 after St. Michael's had jumped out to an early lead.

In the win over the RiverHawks, Ladino had her first career multi goal game with two scores as the Skyhawks remained undefeated with a 3-1 win.

In five contests so far this season, Ladino has two goals and four assists.

This is the second time in as many weeks that Stonehill has captured the weekly award. Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.) was the recipient in the season opening week and Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) was named Goalkeeper of the Week in the opening week as well.

The Skyhawks, who earned a 3-0 win at Frinklin Pierce on Tuesday, return to action on Saturday when it faces off with Merrimack in North Andover at 3 p.m.
