November 3, 2006

The honors continue to come in for the Stonehill College field hockey team, as six Skyhawks were named on Friday evening to the 2006 Northeast-10 All-Conference squad for their efforts on the field this season.

Junior Caitlin Gleason (New Boston, N.H./Goffstown) and seniors Kelly Latendresse (Sidney, Maine/Messalonskee) and Courtney Campbell (Reading, Mass./Reading) earned first team all-Northeast-10 honors for their performances for Head Coach Pam Arpe's squad, while juniors Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln), Brittany Dibble (Troy, N.Y./Columbia) and Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) received second team all-conference accolades.

Gleason leads Stonehill in scoring with 13 goals and five assists for 31 points to date, including five game-winning tallies, as she became the first Skyhawk to reach the 100 career point plateau with a marker in a 4-0 win over American International on October 26th. Latendresse, the only two-time NFHCA Division II All-America performer in school history, has notched six goals and seven assists for 19 points to date with three game-winning tallies, as she ranks second on the team in assists. Campbell anchors a Stonehill defensive unit that has allowed 1.03 goals per match in 19 contests to date and has chipped in with a goal and three assists for five points on the offensive side.

Boulis, last year's Northeast-10 Tournament Most Valuable Player, ranks second to Gleason on the Skyhawk scoring list with 12 goals and a pair of assists for 26 points, while Dibble has been a solid player on both ends for Arpe's crew this fall, registering a pair of goals in 19 appearances to date. Ryder, the winningest goalie in Stonehill history, has amassed 16 victories and nine shutouts this season in the Skyhawk cage, posting a 1.03 goals against average with 62 saves for a .756 saves percentage, including 15 stops in a double overtime win at Bryant back on October 24th, the second highest single-match total of her career.

Stonehill, which captured its first Northeast-10 regular season championship with a 14-2 league slate this year, tied with conference runner-up Bentley for the most individuals honors on this year's all-Northeast-10 squad with six. The Skyhawks placed the highest number of individuals (five) on the Northeast-10 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference team as well, and Stonehill will be the top seed in this weekend's league championships to be played at W.B. Mason Stadium, taking on fourth-seeded Saint Michael's in semi-final round play Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 a.m. EST.
