Brent Kasabian is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Stonehill football program. While taking over as special teams coordinator this fall, he will continue as position coach with the Skyhawks defensive backs.

Stonehill defensive back excelled in Kasabian's first year working with the group, leading the Northeast-10 with 15 interceptions, a total that also ranked 33rd nationally in Division II. The Skyhawks led the NE-10 in takeaways with 25, ranking 29th nationally for that category.

Kasabian joined Stonehill after serving as an assistant coach during the 2011 season at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. He worked as position coach for the Mariners secondary, while also working on special teams. Kasabian was in charge of generating daily drills, charting opponent passing play cards and analyzing tendencies and breaking down film. He was also responsible to assisting in team travel preparations and recuiting in the areas of Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Kasabian has two years of high school coaching experience, working as defensive coordinator at North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, Mass., during the 2010 season and as assistant coach for defensive backs and strength and conditioning coach at Tyngsboro High School in 2009. Kasabian has also served as head freshman lacrosse coach at Wesford Academy during the spring of 2011, leading the Grey Ghosts to a perfect 15-0 record.

Kasabian has also earned experience as a clinician at the Manning Passing Academy, in Thibodaux, La., since 2006, the NIKE SPARQ Combine at Bentley University and Masters Sports Football Camps.

Kasabian is a 2009 graduate of Bridgewater State College, earning a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice. He was a four year letterwinner for the Bears football team as a defensive back. He was part of a class that posted a 30-10 record over his four seasons, winning the 2005 and 2006 ECAC Northeast and North Atlantic Bowl games.
