Jim Artz returns for his second stint as an assistant coach with the Stonehill football program. He will again serve as position coach for the Skyhawks running backs after two seasons in that role in 2015 and 2016.

Artz joins the coaching staff at Stonehill after serving as head football coach across town at Oliver Ames High School for nine years. He led the Tigers to three Hockomock League Championships and a Division 3 Super Bowl appearance at Gillette Stadium in 2011. Prior to his time at Oliver Ames, Artz was an assistant coach at Foxboro High School for 15 years, serving as offensive coordinator, junior varsity head coach and freshman football assistant. He helped guide the Warriors to five Hockomock titles and three Super Bowl appearances, including a championship victory in 1991.

Artz, who spent eight years in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, earned his Bachelor's Degree in physical education from Bridgewater State University in 1997. He received his Master's Degree in education from Fitchburg State College. Artz resides in Norton, Massachusetts, with his wife, Megan, and their sons, JD (13) and Jake (9), and daughter, Maddie (8). He continues to serve as physical education teacher at Oliver Ames.
