High School:  2009 graduate of North Haven High School. 4-year letterwinner and captain for both football and basketball. Was a 2-time conference champion, a state semi-finalist his sophomore year and competed in the CT Hall of Fame all-star game.

Personal: Born December, 23, 1990 in New Haven, CT. Son of David and Nancy Oakes of North Haven, CT. Grandfarther (Abner Oakes III) coached hockey at Dartmouth College. Supports the New York Jets and lists favorite athlete as  Brian Cushing.
